 FRIDAY FANCY FOLD # 5

Welcome to Friday!  It's finally Friday when we can look forward to the weekend -- fun with family, sleeping in late, shopping, going to church, watching football and movies on TV, eating out or ordering in, and crafting!

This week we'll be working on an easy Fancy Fold.  Not only is it easy to make, you can use all types of DSP (Designer Series Paper), your favorite cardstock, and several different sentiments to complete a card whether it's for a birthday, anniversary, get well, thank you...etc.  It's just your selections that make the card unique.  Here is my sample of the finished card:

Begin by selecting a DSP and two coordinating cardstock papers. I am using the leaves paper from the Forever Greenery DSP package and Cinnamon Cider and Mint Macaroon cardstock. You will also need whisper white or very vanilla cardstock (whichever matches your DSP)  and three different sizes of circle punches or dies.  Make sure that your sentiment fits in the smallest of the circles.

Cut one piece of the Cinnamon Cider cardstock 6 7/8 inches by 5 1/2 inches for the card base. Also cut one piece of Cinnamon Cider 3 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches to be the flap.  Score the card base at 4 1/4 inches.  And the flap at 2 1/4 inches.

Next, cut the DSP for the front panel 5 inches by 2 1/8 inches.  Also, cut a piece of the DSP 3 inches by 2 1/4 inches.

Out of the Mint Macaroon cardstock, cut a piece 5 1/4 inches by 2 3/8 inches for the front panel and another piece for the flap at 3 1/4 inches by 2 1/2 inches.

Cut a piece 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches in whisper white or very vanilla (whichever matches your DSP).  This piece is for the inside of the card.

Fold the flap on the scored line at 2 1/4 inches. Glue the smaller scored side to the back along the edge of the Whisper White (or Very Vanilla).  Glue these pieces to the inside of the card so that the flap can fit over the front of the card.  (Refer to pictures). Then glue the DSP on the Mint Macaroon cardstock and then glue this to the flap.

Glue the larger DSP piece on the Mint Macaroon mat for the front cover. Fold the front cover on the scored line.  Glue the matted DSP onto the front cover. (Refer to pictures.)

Stamp the sentiment on a piece of white whisper (or very vanilla) cardstock and using the 1 1/2 inch circle punch, punch out the saying.  Punch a 2 inch circle of Cinnamon Cider and a XXXXX inch circle of Mint Macaroon.  Layer and glue the three circles. Then glue the circles to the front flap completing the card.  (See finished card below.)

Let me know you thoughts of this card and please share any cards you create using this same pattern.

Can't believe October will soon be here.  I'll be adding more posts holiday cards I'm creating.  So keep checking back, add your comments, and keep crafting!
